JAMB CAPS 2025: What You Must Know About Checking & Accepting University Offers

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made it easier for prospective university students in Nigeria to monitor and handle their admission offers online. Through its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), candidates can now check, accept, or reject offers without the usual hassles.

Why CAPS Was Introduced

CAPS was created to bring transparency and efficiency into the admission process. Key improvements include:

  • Eliminating delays and missing admission lists.
  • Preventing candidates from receiving multiple offers.
  • Enabling schools to manage their selections directly.
  • Allowing students to see status updates in real time, rather than waiting for physical postings.

What You Can Do on CAPS

Once admitted, or when offers start coming in, CAPS allows you to:

  • Accept or reject admission offers.
  • Upload your O-Level results (if you had earlier registered “awaiting results”).
  • Monitor your admission status continuously.

Note: Once you accept an offer, you’re no longer eligible for offers from other institutions under CAPS. If you reject, however, you remain in the pool for other potential offers.

If you’re offered admission into a different course than you applied for: Use the Transfer Approval option in CAPS. You can choose to accept or decline this change.

If you don’t see any offer yet: You don’t need to worry immediately, but make sure you’ve done everything required. If you registered earlier with “awaiting results,” go ahead and upload your O-Level results on the JAMB portal.

What To Do After Accepting

Once you’ve accepted an offer, don’t forget to print your JAMB Admission Letter. This document is often required by the institution during registration.

CAPS is now central to the admissions process for Nigerian tertiary institutions. It’s designed to make the process fairer, faster, and more transparent. If you’re waiting on an offer, keep checking. If you’ve been offered, act quickly—because the decisions you make here close some doors (for other offers) and open others.
