Introductory Activity

Teacher asks: “Last week, we learned booting means starting the computer. Who remembers the two types?” (Cold and warm). Teacher: “Today we will learn HOW to do them.”

Lesson 1 — Steps for Cold Booting

Cold booting means turning on the computer when it is completely off.

Step Action
1 Make sure the computer is OFF (screen is dark, no light).
2 Find the power button (usually on the CPU or laptop).
3 Press the power button once.
4 Wait for the computer to start (lights come on, screen shows pictures).
5 The computer is ready to use. ✅

Lesson 2 — Steps for Warm Booting

Warm booting means restarting the computer while it is already on.

Step Action
1 Make sure the computer is ON and working.
2 Click the Start button (bottom left corner of screen).
3 Click the Power icon (circle with a line ⏻).
4 Click Restart.
5 Wait for the computer to turn off and on again by itself.

Important Safety Rules

Rule Why?
Do not press the power button to turn off when computer is working. It can damage the computer.
Always use Restart for warm boot. It is safer.
Ask a teacher before touching the computer. To avoid mistakes.
