Catching an Object
Catching an object is when you quickly hold an object (e.g. a ball) that is thrown at you.
How to Catch
- Keep your eyes on the ball.
- Be ready and focused.
- Bend your knees slightly.
- Catch the ball.
How to Strike a Ball
- Give pupils a plastic bat suitable for their size.
- Start with a beach ball, then move on to smaller balls.
- Once comfortable with a tennis ball, move on to a regular bat.
Assignment
- Catch and strike an object thrown at them.
- Differentiate between catching and striking balls.
