📖 Meaning of Business Studies

Centuries ago, people earned their living through trade by barter — the direct exchange of goods for goods and services for services. For example, a farmer could exchange yams for fish with a fisherman. However, both parties needed to want exactly what the other had!

The invention of money solved this problem and opened the door to large-scale business. Today, Business is defined as a legal means of earning a living by engaging in commercial activities. Business Studies is the study of the means through which people in a society earn their living by engaging in commercial activities or occupational services.
