CONTENT OF THE LESSON

Sense of Taste:
The tongue is the organ we use to taste.

The four main tastes are:

  1. Sweet – sugar, honey, cake.
  2. Sour – lemon, lime, unripe mango.
  3. Bitter – bitter leaf, aloe vera.
  4. Salty – salt, chips, sea water.

Importance of Taste:

  • Helps us enjoy food.
  • Warns us against eating bad or poisonous food.

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY:

Teacher gives pupils safe samples to taste (sweet, sour, salty, bitter) and asks them to describe the taste.
