CONTENT OF THE LESSON

The Sense Organs
Sense organs are special parts of our body that help us to see, hear, smell, taste, and feel things around us.

The five sense organs are:

  1. Eyes – for seeing (Sense of Sight)
  2. Ears – for hearing (Sense of Hearing)
  3. Nose – for smelling (Sense of Smell)
  4. Tongue – for tasting (Sense of Taste)
  5. Skin – for touching or feeling (Sense of Touch)

Functions of the Sense Organs:

  • Eyes help us see objects, shapes, and colours.
  • Ears help us hear different sounds.
  • Nose helps us smell pleasant and unpleasant odours.
  • Tongue helps us taste sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and umami flavours.
  • Skin helps us feel textures like smooth, rough, hot, and cold.

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY:

Teacher shows pictures of the five senses and asks pupils to name them and say what each does.
