PERIOD: ____________________
DURATION: 40 minutes

CONTENT OF THE LESSON:
Meaning of Changes in Animals:
Changes in animals occur as they grow, mature, and adapt to their environment.
Examples of Changes in Animals:
- A kitten grows into a cat.
- A calf grows into a cow.
- A tadpole changes into a frog.
- Some animals shed their skin (snakes, lizards).
- Some animals grow fur for winter.
Animals and Their Young Ones:
Adult Animal | Young One |
Cow | Calf |
Goat | Kid |
Hen | Chick |
Dog | Puppy |
Cat | Kitten |
Horse | Foal |
Reasons for Changes in Animals:
- Growth – animals get bigger and stronger.
- Reproduction – animals produce young ones.
- Adaptation – changes help animals survive in their environment.
- Seasonal changes – fur growth or shedding.
Comparing Young and Adult Animals:
Young animals are smaller, may have different colours, and may lack some features of adults. Example: A chick has soft feathers, while a hen has full plumage.
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY:
Teacher shows pictures of a chick and a hen, asking pupils to point out differences.
CLASS EXERCISE 1:

CLASS EXERCISE 2:
Mention two reasons why animals change.
