CONTENT OF THE LESSON:

What are Files?

Files are things we save on a computer. They help us store information like schoolwork, pictures, music, and videos.

Types of Files

Here are four main types of files:

Folder and Directory

  • A folder is like a box where we keep related files together.
Example: You can have a folder called “Homework” for saving your school assignments.
  • A directory is the full path that shows where a file or folder is saved on the computer.

 Example:
If your homework is saved in a folder on the C drive, the directory could be:
C:\Documents\Homework

Remember: A folder helps us stay organized so we don’t lose our work!
