Conditions Needed for Crops to Grow Properly

For crops to grow well, they need:

1. Good soil – rich in nutrients.
2. Water – for germination and growth.
3. Air – plants need carbon dioxide for photosynthesis.
4. Sunlight – needed to make food.
5. Fertilizer/Manure – adds nutrients to the soil.
6. Space – enough room to spread roots and leaves.

Importance of Fertilizers

Fertilizers are substances added to the soil to improve fertility. They:

1. Increase soil nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium).
2. Make crops grow faster and healthier.
3. Increase harvest (higher yield).
4. Replace nutrients lost after farming.

Components of Fertilizer (NPK)
