Meaning of Marriage

Marriage is a legal or traditional union between a man and a woman. It is when a man and a woman become husband and wife.

Types of Marriage Ceremonies

Type Description
1. Traditional Marriage Performed according to the customs and traditions of the couple’s ethnic group or community.
2. Religious Marriage Conducted in a church or mosque according to religious laws and customs.
3. Court Marriage A legal union registered and conducted in a court of law.

Roles in Marriage

  • Husband and wife share love, respect, and responsibilities.
  • The husband provides for the family, protects, and guides children.
  • The wife cares for children, manages the home, and teaches morals.
  • Both must love and respect each other.
